Newsletter Dated 7th March 2008
Dear Parents
I am writing to inform you that Miss Legassick has been successful in obtaining another position at Burford Primary School and will be leaving us at the end of the term. This is not a usual time for a teacher to be transferring to another school, but this has meant that a Redundancy situation for the teaching staff has been avoided for the present. A redundancy was being sought as the school is moving towards a deficit budget situation this year.
We are very sorry to be losing Miss Legassick as she has made an important contribution to the school during the almost 11 years that she has been here. This move will mean that Miss Legassick will have more opportunity to develop her musical skills with older pupils. We wish her every success!
Following our return from the April holiday, Mrs Moses will be moving to lead the other Year 2 class and Mrs Brown will also be increasing her teaching hours to work with her current class. We appreciate both teachers agreeing to cover this situation for the school.
As I’m sure you are aware, Mr Long now has a daughter who was born during half term. He will be returning to school on 10th March at the end of his Paternity leave.
Looking forward to the future, Mrs Henson is happily expecting a baby in August. Mrs Lawson will be increasing her hours in September to cover most of the Maternity leave.
I will notify you of other staff positions for September next term.
Yours sincerely
