Striving for excellence in a caring and sharing environment.
Newletter dated 6th February  2008

Dear Parents

Firstly many thanks for the donations of underwear –   your response has ensured that we have a good stock for both boys and girls now.  However, please remember if your child has borrowed any clothes, to return them to school after washing.

ONE WORLD WEEK
As part of next week’s ‘One World Week’, we have arranged a workshop visit from ‘Go Global Games’ for Wednesday 13th February.  The Parents Association are kindly finding this.  During the day, the children will have experience of games played in other countries.  There will be opportunities for parents to buy various inexpensive products used in these activities, both at the end of the morning and at the end of the day.

SATS MEETING FOR YEAR 2 PARENTS
I will be holding a short information meeting on Friday 29th February at 2.15 pm in the Library.  This will provide more details regarding the way the assessment is carried out and what the different scores mean.

For any parents unable to attend the meeting, I will be producing an information sheet.  If you have any questions about this, please ask me or your child’s class teacher.

WORLD BOOK DAY
On Thursday 6th March, it is World Book Day.  Children will be bringing home £1 book vouchers to use towards buying books.  Year 1 and Reception pupils are invited to dress up as their favourite story book character on that day.  i.e. not from a television programme or cartoon.   In addition, it would be good if they could bring a copy of a book with that individual in it and be prepared to say why they like their character.

As Year 2 pupils will be dressing up for their  Medieval Day the following week, they are asked just to bring in their favourite book.

DATES – BEGINNING OF SUMMER TERM
I just want to reiterate that there was a mistake on the list of dates circulated earlier this term regarding the return after the April holiday.  The date is Monday 21st April and NOT  25th April.

Yours sincerely
